About Jonathan
Born and educated in Kent, Jonathan left school at 16 to start an apprenticeship in diamond mounting.
This was swiftly followed by 3 years working for one of the world’s largest gemstone merchants and qualifying in the Professional Jeweller’s Diploma in 1990.
At the age of 32, Jonathan became the youngest ever chairman of The National Association of Goldsmiths and remains on the association’s board of directors. In 2009 he was installed as the inaugural chairman of the Institute of Registered Valuers
A regular contributor to local and national publications on jewellery related subjects, he has also made a number of TV and Radio appearances, mainly in the field of jewellery valuations. Jonathan also sits on the advisory board of International Jewellery London.
Jonathan carries out a large number of public speaking engagements each year to various organisations and has also acted as an expert witness in the High Court.
Jonathan is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and in the millennium year received the Freedom of the City of London.
